Mickey Olsen recently celebrated an extraordinary milestone—her 101st birthday. While her longevity alone is worth honoring, it was the love and support surrounding her that made the day truly unforgettable. For Mickey and her family, the dedicated Allegro team caring for her each day played an essential role in making the celebration so meaningful.
Her children, Dave and Kathie Olsen, shared a heartfelt message recognizing the exceptional care Mickey receives and the staff who go above and beyond every day. “You have many angels.”
Two team members who stood out were Angela (Ensemble Memory Care Program Director) and Imani (Activities Assistant), both of whom have developed a deep understanding of Mickey’s needs and daily routines. Their attentiveness and compassion did not go unnoticed. On Mickey’s birthday, they brought her flowers and balloons—a touching gesture that deeply moved her family. “She was just as excited to see them as she was family members!”
The Olsens also expressed deep gratitude for Yenice (Assistance Resident Services Director), someone they describe as a steady, dependable advocate for their mother. “We can always count on [her] to troubleshoot issues and support whatever needs my mom has. She is truly excellent.”
Beyond these named caregivers, Dave and Kathie acknowledged the many others who contribute to Mickey’s well-being each day with kindness and dedication. “We’ve failed to mention so many more staff members in the facility who always greet us warmly and are advocates every day for our mom.”
Mickey’s birthday became a moment not only to celebrate her incredible life but also to reflect on the community of care that surrounds her. The photo shared by the family said it all—staff members standing alongside Mickey to honor her special day, demonstrating the genuine relationships that have formed.
