Welcome to Alto Tavares, a vibrant senior living community where personalized care meets an active lakeside lifestyle. Our Assisted Living and Memory Care our residents enjoy an environment that feels social from morning to evening, with inviting spaces to gather and a team that knows the community well.
Staff longevity is one of Alto Tavares’ defining strengths. More than half of our team has been here for half a decade or more. Our residents also benefit from activity professionals seven days a week and the freedom of all-day dining, making it easier to shape daily life around personal preferences instead of a fixed schedule.

Alto Tavares has the energy of a community where people genuinely enjoy spending time together.
Tours rarely pass through empty common spaces. Our residents are often visiting with neighbors, joining an activity or stopping to chat with guests. That easy sense of connection reflects the culture among team members, too. Our department leaders work closely together, and many employees have built years of experience within the community. During business hours, multiple nurses are available in the building, adding another layer of support for residents and families.
Alto Tavares offers lake views and comfortable outdoor areas while keeping residents close to healthcare, shopping and the character of nearby Mount Dora.
Assisted Living
Assisted Living offers the freedom to enjoy each day your way, with a little extra support when you need it. Residents can settle into the comfort and privacy of their own apartment, connect with neighbors, take part in activities they enjoy, and spend less time worrying about the responsibilities of daily living.
Personalized care is shaped around each resident’s needs, preferences, and routines, helping them continue doing the things that make life feel familiar and fulfilling. Whether it’s sharing a meal with friends, trying something new, or simply enjoying a quiet afternoon, residents have the support and confidence to make each day their own.
Memory Care
Memory Care provides a warm, secure place where individuals living with Alzheimer’s disease or other forms of dementia can feel comfortable, connected, and truly at home. Familiar routines, welcoming spaces, and compassionate support help create a reassuring sense of consistency while encouraging residents to engage with the people and moments around them.
Care is personalized around each resident’s story, preferences, abilities, and daily rhythms. Through meaningful activities, familiar experiences, and opportunities for connection, residents are supported in finding purpose and enjoyment each day, while families can feel confident knowing their loved one is understood, valued, and cared for.

Does Alto Tavares offer all-day dining?
Yes. Alto Tavares offers all-day dining, allowing residents to eat when it works best for their schedule. Lunch and dinner feature two daily specials, and a 15-item always-available menu provides additional choices. The Perch Cafe also offers snacks, drinks, and morning pastries.
Are activities available every day at Alto Tavares?
Yes. Activity professionals are available seven days a week in both Assisted Living and Memory Care. Programming includes experiences within the community as well as weekly outings, scenic drives, and special events.
Does Alto Tavares provide transportation?
Yes. Medical appointment transportation is available on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Errand runs are scheduled twice each week, and residents can participate in at least one planned outing weekly. Memory Care residents can also use transportation for medical needs and participate in scheduled scenic rides or events.
What healthcare services are available at Alto Tavares?
Residents can access visiting podiatry as well as physical, occupational, and speech therapy through home health providers. Mobile labs and mobile X-rays are also available. The community works with hospice providers when those services are appropriate.
Does Alto Tavares offer a dementia caregiver support group?
Yes. Alto Tavares hosts a monthly Dementia Support Group on the second Thursday of each month at 2 p.m. The group is open to resident families, residents whose spouses have experienced dementia and members of the surrounding community.
Are pets allowed at Alto Tavares?
Yes. Alto Tavares is pet-friendly, allowing residents to enjoy the companionship of a beloved pet as part of community life. Families can contact our team to learn more about current pet guidelines and any requirements that may apply.

The cost of care at Alto Tavares depends on several factors, including apartment selection and the level of support a resident may need. Because each resident’s needs are different, pricing can vary.
