At Allegro Parkland, giving back to the community is a tradition—and this year’s Mahjong for Memories event was another meaningful example of that commitment in action.
On May 21, 2026, Allegro Parkland welcomed Mahjong enthusiasts from across the community for its annual Mahjong for Memories tournament. The event brought together 46 players across 11 tables, including residents, team members, partners, friends, and local Parkland community members for an afternoon of friendly competition and connection.
While the tournament celebrated the growing popularity of Mahjong—a game that has become a nationwide phenomenon in recent years—it also served a greater purpose. Through participant support and community generosity, Allegro Parkland raised $1,500 for the Alzheimer’s Association Southeast Florida Chapter as part of the national “Do What You Love to End Alzheimer’s” campaign, which promotes awareness and funding for Alzheimer’s research and support services.
“We are incredibly grateful to Allegro Parkland for being such a consistent and passionate partner of the Alzheimer’s Association through their support of our Do What You Love campaign, the Walk to End Alzheimer’s, and the many community events they so generously host throughout the year,” said Tracey Paige, Executive Director of the Alzheimer’s Association Southeast Florida Chapter.
For Allegro Parkland, the event represents more than fundraising—it reflects a shared commitment to supporting individuals and families affected by Alzheimer’s disease while fostering meaningful community engagement.
Paige noted that Mahjong offers benefits beyond entertainment. “Mahjong is not only a beloved social activity, but also a great way to exercise the brain, encourage cognitive engagement, and foster friendships and connection,” she said. “We are proud to partner with organizations like Allegro Parkland that truly understand the importance of supporting both brain health and the community in the fight to end Alzheimer’s and all other dementia.”
This year marked the fourth annual Mahjong for Memories event at Allegro Parkland, and plans are already underway to continue the tradition in the years ahead. The tournament has become a favorite community gathering that combines fun, friendship, and philanthropy—demonstrating how a shared passion can make a meaningful difference.
At Allegro Parkland, events like Mahjong for Memories are just one of the many ways residents and team members come together to support causes that matter, strengthen community connections, and create a lasting impact.
