An article has been circulating in the media lately called ‘Why Senior Housing Prices Are Impossible to Find’ which discusses the lack of pricing information available on senior living websites. This lack of transparency is frustrating to viewers and poses the question, “why can’t senior living companies just post pricing information on the website?”

It’s understandable why this question is commonly asked. Seniors and families go online with the intention to find pricing. Many believe that senior living companies withhold pricing so that they do not scare away potential residents.

There is no doubt that grandparents have a unique relationship with their grandchildren. They often serve as a friend, mentor and your biggest fan throughout childhood, adolescence and adulthood. Senior Hacks – Shortcuts to Make Life Easier for Seniors

Daily tasks that were once simple can become more challenging as individuals age and face hurdles such as loss of hearing, sight and memory. Several senior hacks that can make each day easier through this stage of life.

Allegro Brings Awareness to Alzheimer’s and Dementia With Hand-Painted Rocks

Allegro located in Elizabethtown is joining the fun and enlisting residents, associates and their family members to paint rocks for the community.  These rocks have a message of good cheer and bring awareness to those living with Alzheimer’s or dementia. These hand-painted rocks have been strategically hidden around local businesses and offer several unique prizes to those who find them. Anyone who finds an Allegro rock will receive a complimentary dinner for two at the community.  Among these rocks, Allegro created three unique, memory care rocks to bring awareness to those living with Alzheimer’s or dementia. Those who find one of Allegro’s unique memory care rocks will receive a special prize.

The first memory care rock says “Find Joy in Your Journey” and is painted with a purple heart honoring those who have Alzheimer’s disease. We Get By With a Little Help from Our Friends

Friends bring us encouragement, support and love. Humans need these essentials to survive and live a fulfilling life at any age.  As Ringo Starr says, ‘I get by with a little help from my friends.’ This saying is even truer as we age.

The New York Times recently ran an article titled Loneliness Can Be Deadly for Elders; Friends Are the Antidote. In this article the author spoke about the importance of friends in later years of life. The article highlights the benefits new and old friendships bring to seniors.
